October is the month for chugging apple cider, getting pumpkin gunk on your hands while making a jack-o-lantern and scrambling to assemble a last-minute Halloween costume. Here are some RecordSetter videos for inspiration. Beat one of these or invent your own!

How to Juggle Three Balls (Beginner Friendly!)

October 12, 2011 Posted by Ella Morton

Juggling is a fun pastime, a swell party trick and a way to prove to potential love interests that you are good with your hands. If you’ve never attempted to juggle before — or if you’ve tried and given up in frustration — the whole thing can seem a bit tricky. But if you start with three balls and take it slowly, you’ll quickly get the hang of it and be able to add tricks, juggle more balls and do it all while dressed like a monkey.

The easiest way to start is by learning the three-ball cascade technique. Grab a trio of juggling balls, oranges or anything else small and spherical, and watch this lesson from Barry John, aka professionaljuggler.

Got the hang of it? Great! Check out the RecordSetter juggling world records and submit your own!

5 New Myachi World Records

October 3, 2011 Posted by Emily Miethner

What is Myachi? Founded in 1998, Myachi is the brand name of type of hand sack that is similar to the hacky sack. Watching a good Myachi player is absolutely mesmerizing; with their hands playing constant tricks on your eyes.

We’re honored to have a Myachi super star on our site, Aaron Davis (aka Crazy Ivan) who says his proudest accomplishment is “proving to thousands of people that one can actually play with toys for a living.” Right on, Aaron. We like to play with toys as well…and so do the folks below.

Cleveland’s Balloonfest 1986: A Lesson In World Record Setting

September 26, 2011 Posted by Emily Miethner

In 1986 Cleveland set the world record for most balloons released simultaneously. The releasing of over 1.5 million balloons had a horrific impact on the surrounding area. As Blood, Sweat, and Tears sing in their 1969 hit Spinning Wheel, “What goes up, must come down.” To all current and future record setters, this reminds us of one of our principles, “Don’t hurt yourself. Don’t hurt others. Don’t hurt the planet.”

Regardless, these images are absolutely stunning and slightly horrific.

If you’re going to set some balloon related records, please do it safely. But definitely do it…submit your record today.
