In 1986 Cleveland set the world record for most balloons released simultaneously. The releasing of over 1.5 million balloons had a horrific impact on the surrounding area. As Blood, Sweat, and Tears sing in their 1969 hit Spinning Wheel, “What goes up, must come down.” To all current and future record setters, this reminds us of one of our principles, “Don’t hurt yourself. Don’t hurt others. Don’t hurt the planet.”
