The current record of 137 was set at the Pitch Fork Music Festival by Joseph Gunderson in 2009.
The record was born in paying homage to legendary guitarist Pete Townshend. Hayley Kennedy of Brooklyn, New York completed 125 air guitar windmills at a party in Williamsburg in 2009. Since then the record has been beaten three times.
Sure, 137 windmills in 60 seconds is a very tough standard to beat, at least for humans. But with all the rock concerts that happen each and every day, it’s surprising that this record hasn’t been broken in over two years.
